Thank you Freestyle Fellowship, For Keeping Your Promise…
After moving to Seattle, WA from Los Angeles, CA in 1988, I have had to hear second hand accounts of the great “Good Life Cafe” days and live vicariously through friends. Over a decade later, my daughter and I have watched Ava DuVernay’s “This Is The Life: How The West Was One” (http://goodlifelove.ning.com/) over and over again. And I have to be honest. I never thought I would live to see the day. Aceyalone, Myka 9, Self Jupiter, P.E.A.C.E., and DJ Kiilu. As Freestyle Fellowship. On one stage. Together. Live. But they proved me wrong, and they kept their promise. My daughter and I had the privilege of seeing Freestyle Fellowship live, for their 20 Year Reunion Tour at Seattle’s Showbox…. A-effing-mazing…
If you haven’t already, do yourselves a favor and pick up a copy of that new CD “The Promise”, available on iTunes

Imagine a more mature, more gifted (as if that were even possible), a 20 year old Freestyle Fellowship. I waited 20 long years for this. It was definitely worth the wait…
Thank you, Freestyle Fellowshop, for blessing Seattle with your presence… And for allowing me to share this experience with my daughter… and her daughter… and so on, and so on…
And they said Hip Hop was just a phase…
